Sony Ericsson walkman phone hits stores 15 Aug 2005   |

Just in case you've had your head buried in the sand for the past month, the brand new Sony Ericsson W800i makes it's debut today.

The eagerly awaited handset is almost identical to the massively successful K750i and features a very similar design, with the same 2 Megapixel camera.

Sony has added it's 'Walkman' branding to the handset and brings some welcome features such as Mega Bass and some seriously cool headphones. The phone is more geared towards music than any other in the Sony Ericsson series so far  - however it still falls some way short of the capacity of the upcoming Nokia N91.

The handset comes bundled with a 512MB memory card - which may, or may be not enough for music enthusiasts. The good news is that the memory is expandable but at current the maximum card size is 1GB.

Handset of the year? The ante has certainly been raised in the past couple of months. Stay tuned for all the latest.
