With all the talk this summer being about MP3 phones, 2 Megapixel cameras and large storage phone capacities, Siemens has finally decided to join the party, bringing along three new models.
The Siemens SXG75, SG75 and SFG75 are all due out in November and are all UMTS (Universal Mobile Telcommunications System) network compliant, allowing for extra fast data transfer.
The SXG75 is the most impressive of the three models and rather interesting features a built in GPS receiver as well as an FM RDS radio for great navigators. Apart from this the phone is also extremely well specced, featuring a 2 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and 128MB memory (expandable by RS-MMC cards). With a choice of metallic white and metallic black models, this really looks like a phone to challenge the front runners.
The SG75 is rather more conservative and appears to be a combination of the SX and the SL-series. The highlight on this phone is a semi-automatic sliding keypad - as well as the phone measuring just under 10cms, this really is a compact handset. It's got a 1.3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth and organiser functions - this is a phone tailored more towards the business market.
Lastly, the SFG75 looks set to be only released in the UK on the 3 Network. A clamshell phone, this is highly similar to the LG series on the same network. However, the spec is virtually the same as the SG75, except that the memory card accepted is mini-SD. This looks to be the budget version of all three phones but still could be a viable option given the lack of competition on 3.
We'll be back with full speciifcations of each handset as soon as we get them. In the meantime - we're looking for to the SXG the most. With phone model names so similar, just make sure you get the right one.
