Finnish mobile phone giant Nokia has announced a new range of handsets targeted at the business-end of the market. The new E-series debuts with three different models - the Nokia E60, Nokia E61, and Nokia E70.
The handsets conform to mainstream designs and all come in an attractive silver finish. Originality wasn't a key factor here - the E60 seems to be very much like Sony Ericsson's T630 - while the E61 very much resembles a Blackberry handset. The E70 seems to have the most outlandish design, as seen before in the Nokia 6800 with the keyboard to both sides of the LCD.
All the handsets feature the Symbian v9.1 running Series 60 software. The phones offer better, sharper LCD displays than previous versions but only the E70 offers a camera - presumably as a camera is pretty low down on the list of business users priorities.
As you might expect the phones have PDA features and support today's most popular and newly announced corporate mobile email solutions like BlackBerry Connect, GoodLink from Good Technology, Inc., Nokia Business Center, Seven Mobile Mail, Seven Always-On Mail and Visto Mobile.
Connectivity is also well-served with a massive range of options: 3G, EDGE, WLAN, Bluetooth, VOIP and infrared means that there will always be a way to contact the user!
All handsets are pencilled in for Q1, 2006 release. It's likely that they'll be popular with the networks and business users in the UK.
