It doesn't come as much of a shock that the V3 - one of Motorola's most successful handsets of recent times - is being improved upon in a new, sleek version.
Keeping the same trademark design - the new model is to be called the V3i. The improvements take the phone also now features a 1.2 megapixel camera with video record, and a Micro-SD slot. To complement this, the phone now offers ITunes support, much in the vein of the ROKR E1.
Technologically, the phone is someway behind the leaders - after all, the much equivalent Nokia 6230i has been available for some time now. However, again the sleek design of the handset means that it's a certainty that this phone will be a success.
The Motorola V3i should be available Q4, 2005, in time for Christmas. With the price of the original V3 already very low, Motorola have also announced releases of the phone in blue and pink colours.
